About Us
In the rapidly changing field of medicine, Centennial Heart Cardiovascular Consultants
stands out as a group committed to providing the very best in personal and individualized
care while incorporating the very latest in technology and innovation. This new
medical team, in collaboration with Centennial Medical Center and the TriStar Health
System, is committed to providing improved quality of care by offering exciting
avenues for innovation.
Dr. Thomas Frist Sr. started Hospital Corporation
of America (HCA) with humble beginnings at what is now called
Centennial Medical Center. As HCA's flagship hospital, it is no coincidence
that Centennial was the first hospital in Tennessee to perform minimally invasive
bypass in 1996, pioneer off-pump bypass surgery and use robotics in heart surgery.
The Centennial Heart Center is one of only four hospitals from across all 173 HCA
hospitals to be designated as a Cardiovascular Center of Excellence.
The first doctors of Centennial Heart Cardiovascular Consultants:
Robert M. Wheatley, Tom Johnston, Chris Jones, Robert Myers, and Tom McRae, came
to the TriStar System after nearly a decade of providing quality cardiovascular
care to middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky as part of the St. Thomas Hospital
Heart Institute. The move allowed Centennial Heart to offer full-service cardiovascular
care - from invasive procedures such as coronary artery stenting, peripheral vascular
intervention, pacemaker placement, and ablation of arrythmias - to the latest in
non-invasive cardiology, such as echocardiograms, stress tests, CT angiography,
and ambulatory heart rhythm monitoring.
Our goal is to provide our patients and referring physicians with personalized care,
a concept that stands out in an otherwise complex and increasingly impersonal world.
At Centennial Heart Cardiovascular Consultants, we aim every day
to improve our patients' quality of life.
