What to do in an Emergency
If You Experience Chest Pain:
If you have nitroglycerin to use it would be appropriate to put one under your tongue.
If in 5 minutes the pain persists, then repeat the nitroglycerin. At this point,
consider proceeding to the nearest emergency room. If you do not
have nitroglycerin to use, please proceed to the nearest emergency
room.
It is important to emphasize that you go to the nearest emergency
room and not attempt a long drive to Centennial Heart. If you are having a heart
attack, any emergency room facility can make that determination and contact our
physicians for transfer arrangements. It is important to realize that you need to
be stabilized as soon as possible and that time is of the essence.
