Steven V. Manoukian, MD, FACC,FSCAI
Dr. Manoukian is a native of New York and a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Saint John's University. He received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine, New York, NY. His residency in Internal Medicine was served at State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook, where he subsequntly served as Chief Resident. He completed his Fellowships in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. where, in 1993, he was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiology). In 2002, he was appointed Director of Interventional Cardiology at Emory Crawford Long Hospital, Emory University School of Medicine, one of the oldest and largest cardiology training programs in the US. In 2008, he joined Centennial Heart Cardiovascular Consultants and serves as Director of Cardiovascular Research of the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, and Medical Director for Cardiology Services for the Clinical Services Group for the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA).
Dr. Manoukian is active in interventional research, particularly in the area of antithrombin and antiplatelet therapy in percutaneous coronary intervention and acute coronary syndromes. He is a member of the faculty of numerous national and international meetings including: Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT), American Heart Association (AHA) and American College of Cardiology (ACC) scientific sessions, and the Emory Practical Intervention Course (EPIC). He has received the Excellence in Teaching Award for Emory Crawford Long Hospital and was a medical reporter for FOX television news in Atlanta. He was past President of the Atlanta Division of the American Heart Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Americal Heart Association Greater Southeast Affiliate and is the Chairman of the Tennessee Cardiac Systems of Care Task Force.
Dr. Manoukian is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. In 2006, he was elected for inclusion in Best Doctors in America. He is an investigator in numerous multicenter clinical trials. He has several publications in medical journals and also reviews for several medical journals.
